The World of Verdallis
The name "Verdallis" is rarely spoken by the people living in it. "World" or "Known world" is what you will likely encounter more often than not. However, Verdallis is comprised of two major continents that we know of: Antiquoria and Tacita.
Antiquoria
Antiquoria is the largest continent of Verdallis and the most ecologically diverse. It spans nearly the entire mapped world.
Antiquoria is comprised of five countries:
- Vasaak
- Imperianum
- Kolmuund
- Laasika
- Corvalis
Vasaak
Vasaak is a bastion of power both on its surface and below ground through the sprawling, and largely unexplored, Allfaang. It is the most western country of Antiquoria, with Kolmuund to the north, the unreachable plateau of Corvalis in the south, and Imperianum in the west. Vasaak is in constant tension with Imperianum over land and occupancy. This rings particularly true for The Unclaimed Basin, a perilous region that sits directly between the two countries.
Vasaak is ruled by the Valivoim, a government that builds its power on top of the most common religion in the country - The Order of the Ten. Within this, those with Blessings - abilities - are, in most cases, placed above those without.
However, even those with Blessings have a caste system in place, with the Valivoim nearly completely run by Reverents - those Blessed with lifespans nearly twice as long as anyone else.
Among the Reverents, five families have propped themselves up as the strongest, creating The Council. The King's role is cycled only between the five families.
However, a few areas of Vasaak lay outside of Valivoim's direct rule due to treaties or landscapes that make them difficult to control. These include The Breach, The Allfaang, and The Grove of Suril.
The Breach is a crevasse region on the eastern side of Vasaak, next to the shallower Canyon of the Gods. It is home to two major cities - Allfell and Drifton - and rejects Vasaak rule. While many still follow The Order of the Ten, they are wary of the Blessed. A new religion is catching on in The Breach that openly despises them.
The Allfaang is a sprawling network of tunnels and cities creating an entirely subterranean world beneath Vasaak. The Valivoim may say they rule over them, but it is extremely difficult to do so. While some cities in the Allfaang recognize the Valivoim's rule, many others wouldn't fully agree.
The Grove of Suril is the sacred home of the Phytoms - those Blessed with the ability to manipulate plant life. Through a treaty, the Valivoim cannot directly rule the Grove. In return, the Phytoms send some of their own to serve royal and powerful families to both advise and fight on their behalf.

Imperianum
Imperianum, the easternmost recognized country of Antiquoria, is a war-driven country that has been kept quiet for years. Its leaders enjoy conquest at all costs and many of the major cities are dominated by crime, corruption, and vices. In addition, Imperianum doesn't treat those with Blessings any differently from those without. To them, a body is a body.
Vasaak is ruled by a single family - the Yamis family. The Yamis line have no Blessings to speak of and are always scheming to undermine Vassak in the west.
Much of western Imperianum contains quarries that export limestone and other building materials. The eastern edge of Imperianum is cut off from the land beyond it by both a northern mountain range and a wild forest that stretches from the mountain range to the sea. The Great Murk wall is filled with monstrous beasts that make passage nearly impossible.
The land beyond the wall is dominated by warring peoples with no clear leader or government. Little is known of them due to the difficulty of reaching them.
Major cities in Imperianum include Meeran, Tavaline, Tuveria, Mosaic Isle, and Deorumia.
Meeran is a port city that sits at the southwestern edge of Imperianum. It is called the City of Two Faces - for good reason. From the outside it is beautiful. A large statue of Illumia greets newcomers and the outer districts are well known for picturesque spots for weddings. However, the inner districts are rife with crime, gambling, and more.
Tavaline is the quarry capital of Antiquoria and is responsible for much of the stone that is exported. It is also home to a major sect of Tulvaats - Blessed who can see the future - who often train the younger generation to wield their ability effectively.
Tuveria is the capital of Imperianum and sits near its center. It is in a wide, shallow crater with a massive castle at the bottom. Stoney spires curve up over the crater, protecting it from storms and war.
Mosaic Isle is the only major island territory still under Imperianum control. It also boasts the only entrance into the Allfaang accessible to Imperianum.
Deorumia is a war-driven city located on Imperanum's southernmost peninsula. It is a textile-heavy locale that boasts one of the most well-trained armies on the continent.

Kolmuund
Kolmuund is the most northern country in Antiquoria and, as such, is blanketed in snow. It is sparsely populated compared to the rest of the world but is the haven for nearly all Kol - those with the Blessing of thermal regulation.
From wide-spread tundras to snowy peaks and crystalline shores, Kolmuund is one of the most beautiful regions. Ancient towers share the same landscape as small tribal villages and hardier beasts and towering pine trees claim their space.
While Kol didn't always live in Kolmuund, they migrated there in mass following The Great War, eager to be out of reach from Reverent rule.
Important locations in Kolmuund include Ber’i Cam, Tor' Elam, the Bridge of Ja, and Kaldin.
Ber'i Cam: Also known as the Beach of Glass is a beautiful beach with large gemstones that jutt out of the ground and rounded gems mix with the sand. This site is a holy place for Kol tribes. Elders say it was where Elamius spent a great deal of time when he visited, as it never snows there, and the air is still. Some say you can hear him speak to you there. It is a major rite of adulthood to pilgrimmage there. Those who cannot make the trip all the way there are abandoned in the wild and considered weak.
Tor' Elam: An ancient location located at the end of a frozen peninsula, overlooking an expanse of water with The Unclaimed Basin beyond it. The Tower of Elamius is the primary building in Tor' Elam, a massive structure said to reach beyond the clouds to Elamius himself. It serves as a meeting point for leaders of Imperianum and Vasaak to converse with the leaders of tribes from Kolmuund and Laasika.
Bridge of Ja: A major bridge built over the Hand of Tuum, a massive lake cresting both Kolmuund and Vasaak. It is the most direct route for the people of Vasaak to reach the frigid north.
Kaldin: Ruins that used to be the northernmost city in Vasaak. Due to the frozen temperatures and the threat of whitefangs, it has been abandoned for over fifty years. The same can be said for New Kaldin, located in the Allfaang beneath Kaldin.
